BOWLING.

WANGANUI CENTRE’S VISIT. The annual centre match between Wanganui and Manawatu was played yesterday on the Northern Bowling Chib’s green. Mr J. A. Nash, president of the Manawatu Centre, extended a welcome to the visitors. He said he had been in communication with the secretary of the Wanganui Centre, .suggesting that the time had come when the annual match should be played with sixteen rinks instead of eight as at present. This would enable more players to take part. If the match were arranged for one day, it would be possible to divide the rinks in the morning and meet four of the local clubs and play the centre match in the afternoon. - Mr Nash presented Mr A. Crawford with the badge of tlie Manawatu Centre, and called for cheers for the visitors. Mr Crawford,' replying, said that Wanganui were delighted to visit the Manawatu again this year. He had taken note of tlie suggestion made by Air Nash, and he could assure bowlers that it would receive every consideration by his centre. Mr Crawford said he personally had been looking forward to the visit. He asked Mr Nash to accept the badge of the Wanganui Centre, and called for cheers for the Manawatu players. The following clubs of the Manawatu Centre participated; Northern (2), Feilding, Oroua, Manawatu, Palmerston, Terrace End, Takaro. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea.
