BALANCED SYSTEM.
MR ROOSEVELT’S PRICE POLICY. WASHINGTON, Feb. 01. Announcing his new price policy, President Roosevelt said it did not mean inflation or devaluation of the dollar. The Administration, he said, seeks a balanced system of price relations, some being too high and some too low. Easy credit would be continued. His object was not to restore the levels of any given year, but 1926 was the criterion, because conditions then represented a fair balance between creditors and debtors. Tho President also announced the resumption of lending to private business by the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, particularly where it will maintain or increase employmentAn amount of 1,500,000,000 dollars will be available.
