NEW JUNKER ’PLANES.

FINAL TEST TRAGEDY. BERLIN, Feb. 21. Further orders have been placed for new Junkers JU 90 commercial ’planes, which can seat 40 persons, and travel at 300 miles an hour. The first ’plane of this typo crashed at Dessau during the final tests. Three of the crew landed safely with the aid of parachutes, but the fourth was killed when his parachute failed to open. It has been pointed out that the speed of the ’plane was 310 miles per hour. To discover the behaviour of the machine in gusty weather, an electric motor was used to create an artificial vibration, but when the apparatus was cut off the oscillation continued, and the crew was loreed to jump.
