Australia in the first innings have lost eight wickets for 516 (Brown 45. Fingleton 47, Badcock 159, Bradman 144. Barnes, retired hurt, 22, Chipperfield 42, Barnett 15, 0. AVliite not out 27, O’Reilly not out 3). Bradman figured in a sensational innings and delighted the crowd with his free hatting in a score of 144 made in 98 minutes. He hit 19 fours and three sixes. In one over from James lie hit six fours, and from four consecutive balls from Putman hit three sixes and one four. Badcock gave a dashing display for 150 made in 186 minutes.
