Sir,- —In view of the many conflicting rumours flying around the town re the ballot for the Cook Street houses couhl you please state whether or not this ballot has yet taken place? —I am, etc., PROSPECTIVE TENANT. On enquiries being made at the Palmerston North branch of the State Advances Corporation in regard to the above letter, it was stated that this branch had no information whatever on the subject.
