AMALGAMATION PROPOSAL.

BABBIT BOARDS OPPOSED. Per Press' Assoeiation. HASTINGS, Eeh. 28. With flic exception of four, all rabbit hoards in the North Island are opposed to the proposals of the Minister of Infernal Affairs (Hon. W. E. I’arry) for the amalgamation of the hoards with county councils. This announcement was 'made by Mr Bruce Kelly, secretary of the North Island Rabbit Boards’ Assoeiation. to-day. The views of rabbit hoards were obtained in answer to a circular letter sent by the association for evidence to he given before the Parliamentary committee considering the Bill. Some hoards favoured amalgamation with other neighbouring hoards hut stated that flic maei.'iiiery for this existed in the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1028 and it was not necessary flint if should he included in flic proposed Bill.
