Mrs W. J. Honore, of Palmerston North, is visiting Auckland. Mrs Cecil Fookes, of New Plymouth, is snending a holiday in Palmerston North. Miss E. A. James, of Palmerston North, leaves next week for England and Wales via Sydney. Combining business with pleasure, she will also visit the Continent and return via America. Miss Y. I. Curtis, who was formerly on the staff of Taonui School, left to-day to take up her new position as head teacher at Mangorei School, near New Plymouth.
Mrs A. King and Miss J. King, of Fendalton, Christchurch, who have been visiting Mrs Cyril King, of Fitzherbert Avenue Palmerston North, returned to the South Island on Saturday.
A medal competition for members of the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club will be held at the Hokowhitu links' on Wednesday afternoon for trophies donated by Mesdames D. V. Stewart and G. Trevor. Players may choose their own partners.
