ROTARY CLUB.

COLOURED PHOTOGRAPHY. In the absence of the president (Mr A. A. Langley) the chair was taken at the weekly luncheon of the Palmerston North Rotary Club to-day by the past-president (Mr B. J. Jacobs). Mr G. F. Framjee gave an exhibition of motion pictures in natural colours. The first film shown was of the Esplanade in blossom time and of scenes in the Poliangina Valley. The colouring, which was remarkable for its naturalness, emphasised the delicate hues of the blossoms, while the many pictures of the Esplanade’s well-laid-out flower beds, with their riot of colour, proved most entertaining. The Jubilee procession film was also most enjoyable, not only for its colouring, but also for its faithful recording of one of the highlights of Palmerston’s celebrations. Done on “firelight” film at the New Zealand Government Tourist and Publicity Department’s studios, at Miramar, Wellington, were films depicting the scenic attractions of Dunedin and Tongariro National Park, and another portraying big game fishing in the Dominion’s waters. As a fitting conclusion, a Laurel and Hardy comedy, which produced many a laugh, was screened. Mr C. R. Luke moved a vote of thanks to Mr Framjee, while the pastpresident expressed pleasure at seeing so many of the sons and daughters of Rotarians present.
