GOVERNMENT HOUSE, PERTH. —With its towers, arched entrances, oriel windows, and solid cornices, the Government House at Perth is a splendid specimen of Gothic architecture. Situated in the centre of a large area of parklike land, the building is surrounded by a magnificent array of trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens, and it commands a glorious view of the Swan River. The structure was commenced in 1859, and it was completed in 1863.
