CHRISTIE CUP PLAY. The Christie Cup tennis match between the Manawatu Association (holders) and Hawke’s Bay was played on the Linton Street courts to-day. The results of the singles matches, decided in the forenoon, are as follow, Manawatu players being mentioned first: MEN’S SINGLES. D. B. Livingstone beat V. R. CWilson, 6—3, 6—2; R. Chisholm beat R. J. D. Sharpe, 6—l, 9—7; W. Boddy beat H. Elliott, 6—o, 6—o; V. Hobin beat J. -N. Lowry, 6—3, 6 —3; Stafford Hooper beat R. L. Dennis, 9—7, 4—e 6 —3 ; D. O’Brien lost to W. H. Read, 4—6, 7—9. WOMEN’S SINGLES. Mrs J. Macdonald beat Mrs R. H. Milburn, 6—2, 6 —5; Mrs N. PAdams lost to Miss M. Howe, 6 —5. 3—6, 4 —6; Mrs V. Hobin beat Mrs G. Cotterill, 6—3, 6—l; Mrs Lennon lost to Miss M. Evans 2 —6, o—6; Miss J. Barnett lost to Miss B. Griffiths, 3—6, 3—6; Mrs G. New beat Miss Z. Fryer, 6 —2, 6 —5.
