EARL BALDWIN RESIGNS.

PRIMROSE LEAGUE,COUNCIL. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Feb. 24. At yesterday’s meeting of the grand council of the Primrose League, under whose banner he entered politics,Earl Baldwin’s resignation as Grand Master was accepted, and Sir Kingsley Wood (Minister of Health) was appointed to succeed him. The Primrose, League is a British political organisation. It was _ formed by a number of Conservatives in 1883, their aim being to spread the principles of Conservatism among the working classes, and the name was that of the reputed favourite flower of the Earl of Beaconsfield. Officials are known as knights and dames, and the members are grouped in habitations. Primrose Day is the name given to the day of Lord Beaconsfield death.
