SUPREME COURT.

MOTION FOR NEW TRIAL. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Feb. 24. A motion for a new trial in the slander action between two insurance companies heard in the Supreme Court last week has heen filed by defendant company, the Australian Mutual Provident Society. The grounds for the application are that the verdict- was against the weight of evidence and that the damages awarded were excessive. The motion will be called at the Supreme Court on Monday.
