JACKSON TO LEAVE SYDNEY. Received February 23, 12.45 p.m. SYDNEY, Eeb. 23. V. E. Jackson, who narrowly missed selection in the Australian Test cricket team, lias followed the example of J. G. Lush in signing a contract to play with Sir Julien Calm’s team for three years. EIGHT-BALL OVER. RECOMMENDATION TO M.C.C. Received February 23 12 noon. SYDNEY, Feb. 22. The Cricket Board of Control advisory committee has decided to recommend to the Marylebone Cricket Club that an eight-ball over he tried in firstclass matches in 1939. Also, in connection with the commission's report of December 6, it is recommended that there be no reduction in the number of first-class counties. It is recommended that the counties ensure that the pitches are not overprepared.'
