WOOL MARKET
SALES IN SYDNEY. DECREASED FIGURES. OUTLOOK IN LONDON. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received February 5, 11.30 a.m. SIDNEY. Feb, 5. Sales of wool in Sydney from July 1 to January 31 totalled 613,153 bales, which realised £10,781,710. Compared with the sales in the corresponding period of last season these figures show a decrease of 193,248 bales and £5,571,687. A report from London states that confidence is still lacking in tho wool trade according to Dawson’s comment on' the outlook after the London sales. The declines in the commodity and stock markets have cast a shadow on wool. The principal adverse factor is the decline in the consumption, contrasting with the maintenance of a high level of production.
