Mr W. Cooper, assistant stationmaster at Palmerston North, is on annual leave. j Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, left Wellington for the South Island by the inter-island express Steamer last night. Sir Herbert Creedy will continue as Permanent Under-Secretary for War until the autumn of 1939, says a British Official Wireless message. Sir Herbert, .who is aged 59, has been Permanent Under-Secretary since 1924, and a member of the Army Council since 1930. Mr Harold Forster, the elocution examiner for Trinity Cpllege of Music, London, is due to arrive in New Zealand from Vancouver on June 27. He will begin his examination work in Wellington and proceed through the North Island to Auckland. The South Island will be visited at the end of J uly.
