OBITUARY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Feb. 5,
Quite a gloom was cast over this district when it beeamo known that Mr George Ellis, of “Killeymoon,” had passed away | suddenly on Friday morning. Mr Ellis, who was a well-known breeder of Southdowns, attended the Feilding Show on Wednesday, and there took a bad turn, but after receiving medical attention returned home and wa6 ordered to remain in bed for a time. At about 7 a.m. on Friday, after giving instructions for work on his farm, he suddenly expired. Mr Ellis was a bachelor, and although 70 years of age carried his vpars well, being bright and smart right to the end. His farm was always open to visitors, and Massey College students and others often enjoyed his hospitality, while liit? advice on the Southdown breed was of immense value. Ono of Nature’s gentlemen, he was universally liked and respected, and great sympathy is felt for his aged sister, Miss Ellis, and Ins brother. Mr F. J. Ellis, in their bereavement. Some months ago Mr G. Ellis paid a visit to the Old Country, and his health was greatly benefited. Private interment took place at Clifton Cemetery, Bulls, this afternoon.
