BUTTER MARKET FIRM.
LONDON, Jan. 15. The demand for butter has improved, and arrivals are clearing well, and it is surprising that the market has not shown a sharper advance. There is little speculation, and no disposition by importers to try to force prices unduly, which is considered wise, as there is plenty of butter in sight. The immediate outlook is for firm prices with a possible reaction later. Cheese also is firm, with the small available arrivals clearing rapidly.
