RANGIOTU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RANGIOTU, Dec. 21. As a mark of the high esteem in she is held, a large gathering of residents and friends of the surrounding district tendered Miss Myra Simmons, of Mangawhata, a gift evening in honour of her approaching marriage. The esteem of her large circle of friends was testified by the manner in which they received their guest, and by the many valuable gifts and presents offered. An enjoyable lime was spent in dancing. Mr W. H. Gimblett (Mangawhata) spoke eulogistically of. Miss Simmons and extended her their best wishes. After the presentation of handsome gifts by Mr Gimblett, the bride-groom-to-be, Mr Jennings, responded appropriately on behalf of his future wife. Mr D. Wilkinson, headmaster of the local school, and Mrs 'Wilkinson are leaving for Sydney to-day, where (hey intend to spend their holidays during the vacation.
