FINANCIAL
WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
There was no change yesterday in the Wellington stock and share markets, which remained dull, and, in some sections, lifeless. The turnover was small, with little or no movement in prices. With the approach of the Christmas holidays investors are showing little interest in any section of the markets. The Wellington Stock Exchange will close to-morrow and reopen on January 11. A parcel of £BOOO worth of 3J p.c. Government stock, 1941, sold yesterday at £IOO 10s and a small lot of 4 per cent, stock, 1946-49, went at £lO2 10s. There was a slightly better inquiry for the 4 per .cent, stocks and bonds. Bank shares were dull, the few quotations showing no change. Financial issues were neglected, the only recorded business being a sale of Goldbrough Mort at 33s 3d. Huddart Parker ordinaries found no business at 42s 6d. Little interest was shown in industrial anl trading issues; Mount Lyell were a shade firmer. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
