GALA DAY.

There was a good attendance at a Christmas gala day function arranged by the Feilding Ladies’ Croquet and Bowling Club oil Thursday afternoon. Owing to the weather becoming showery the lawn competitions had to be abandoned and the gathering took part at cards in the pavilion where Dorothy Perkins roses made very pretty decorations. Afternoon tea was provided. Trophies were, won by Mrs K. Dewe (first) and Mrs James (second), while Mrs James also won the afternoon competition. Before presenting the trophies Mrs F. Moore (president) wished all present the compliments of the season and to those going on holiday a very pleasant trip. The beautiful iced Christmas cake for the ladies’ bowling competition was won by Mrs Cochrane, of Warwick Street.
