DOMINION SWIMMERS. TEAM SELECTED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 17. The Council of the New Zealand 'Amateur Swimming Association has selected the following team to represent New Zealand at the Empire Games at Sydney in February:— WOMEN. Miss Gwen Rix (Otago), spring; board diving. , Miss Mona Leydon (Auckland),. 440 yds free style. Miss Joyce Macdonald (Southland), 110yds backstroke. Miss Winnie Dunn (Dunedin), 220 yds breaststroke. Miss. I. Purdie (Dunedin), 110yds free style. MEN. P. Hanan (Auckland), 110yds free style. C. Cliff (Christchurch), 110yds backstroke. P. Mathieson (Aucfi'land), 110yds J. Davies (New Plymouth) 220yds breaststroke. L. Newell (Christchurch), 440yds and 1650yds free style. The nominations of Miss Purdie and Mathieson, Cliff, Davies, and Newell are provisional and subject to confirmation, cancellation or replacement after the New Zealand championships. Messrs P. Coira (Wellington), W. O. Stockley (Auckland),. E. C. Isaacs (Dunedin), and one to be appointed by each of tho Auckland and Otago centres have been appointed the final selectors.
