FOXTON BEACH ROAD

ENQUIRIES AS TO SEALING. Two references to the sealing .of Foxton Beach Road were made at the monthly meeting of the Manawatu County Council yesterday. The Manawatu Automobile Association advised that at the annual meeting of the association reference had been made to the sealing of Beach Road, and an enquiry was made as to whether the road would be sealed before Christmas. Members of the association were anxious- that the dust nuisance be overcome before the Christmas season.

Cr. J. Boyce, jokingly; Be sealed by Christmas? Certainly! The chairman : YVe should tell. them that we are hopeful of having it finished by Christmas—l93B. The clerk (Mr A. K. Drew) said he had explained the position to Mr N. H. Mackie, formerly president of the association, who had been quite satisfied. The Foxton Chamber of Commerce yvrote asking for official information as to the position regarding the sealing of the road.

The letter yvas held over, until the subject had been discussed by ’ the Foxton Harbour Board at Foxton, after which a reply is to be sent setting out the position.
