MARTON, Dec. 11. The annual inspection of the Marton Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was held last evening, the inspecting officers being the district superintendent fMr Bourne), the district officer (Mr Wakeley) and the district lady superintendent (Miss McCarthy), of Wanganui. The parade was in charge of Superintendent R. H. Turnbull, who was assisted by Ambulance Officor W. J. Webb. The certificates won during the year were presented by the district superintendent as follow:—First aid: Noel Miles. M. J. Hartigan, R. E. Parkinson, J. M. Ashton, K. Hooper, Denis G. Mann and R. S. Sharp. Labels (fifth year) : Superintendent R. H. Turnbull, Sergeant L. Davies, Corporal E. Jones, Ambularfco Officor W. J. Webb, Corporal F. Lawson, Sergoaht R. G. Witney. Five years’ service: Superintendent Turnbull, Ambulance Officer Webb, Sergeants Witness and Davies, Corporals Lawson and Jones. Junior first aid: Ross Banks. Mr C. C. McDonald presided over a meeting of the Marton Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club last evening, when Mr E. Ross was appointed cycling handicappor in place of Mr A. M. Smart, who has retired after holding the position for several seasons? f
