ATHLETIC MEETING.
Another successful meeting was held on Monday at the Sportsground by the combined. Amateur Athletic and Cycling Clubs. The heavy rain had made the track heavy for running and also had the effect of keeping many spectators away. The results were as follow: Ladies’ 75 yards.—Miss A. Wilson (84yds.) 1, Miss P. Chalk (84yds.) 2, Miss P. Wilson (94yds.) 3;. time, 9 4-ssec. Two laps cycle.—A. Allen (30) 1, A. Rasmussen (30) 2, H. Aislabie (50). 3; time, J. 38 2-5. 100 yards men.—Fisher (10) 1, Temperton (12) 2, Simpson (2) 3; time, 10 2-ssec. One mile junior cycle. —A. Allen (scr.) 1, C. Fisher (50) 2, A. Lawson (70) 3; time, 2.32. One mile flat. —McVicar (50) 1, Lamberton (120) 2, Eade (120) 3. Ladies’ 100 yards. —Miss P. Chalk (10) and Miss A. Wilson (9) dead heat for first, Miss P. Wilson (12) 2; time, 1 3sgc 440 yards flat. —McVicar (35) 1, Temperton (45) 2, Fisher (38) 3; time, 61sec. ‘ , One and a-half mile cycle.—A. Allen (30) 1, H. Aislabie (50) 2, H. Essex (30) 3; time, 4min. 40sec.
