CENTRAL SCHOOL.

GARDEN PARTY. Gay bunting and flags decorated the spacious grounds of Mr and Mrs Bodell’s home, in Wood Street, today, giving a festive appearance, the occasion being the garden party arranged by the ladies’ committee of the Central School. The lawns and shrubs were looking their best, as were the bright rosebeds, which evoked much admiration. The ladies were early on the scene preparing the afternoon tea, and erecting the decorations, and stalls for the afternoon’s entertainment, which showed promise of being a bright one. The stalls, which were grouped on the side lawn near the tennis court, were in charge of the following:—Cakes, Mesdames Fitzgerald and Denham; sweets, Mesdames Garden, Cribb and Briton ; produce, Mesdames Evans and Drake; babv show, Mesdames Shelley and Jarrett; tea rooms, Mesdames Turnbull and Spencer; icecream, Mesdames Bodell and Jamieson; jumble, Mrs Farrar.
