CONVENT GARDEN PARTY.
Few residents of Palmerston North realise the extensive good the Sisters of Morey do each year in administering to tho material requirements of the poor and sick. So quietly do they work that most people think of them only in the capacity of teachers at the Convent schools, but their duties are far more than that. Besides giving their own services without expectation of earthly reward, they provide to the host of their ability, assistance for the poor and needy, and it says much for their self-sacrifice that as the result of this generosity they themselves often want for the necessities of life. Once each year the public of Palmcreton North arc given an opportunity of taking charge of the Sisters peaceful retreat in tho Convent grounds, Fitchett Street, and fn patronising the several stalfe erected for tho purpose of selling articles that have been donated. The annual appeal -vill this year be made this corning Saturday, when the garden party will bo officially opened by His Worship tho Mayor (Mr A. E. 'Mansford) and Mr J. Hodgens, M.P., at 2 p.m., and will be continued in the evening.
