ASHHURST.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASIIHURST, Dec. 6. A pleasant time was spent on. Saturday evening, when members of tile' Tennis and Ping Pong Clubs gathered in the Masonic Hall to bid farewell to a most popular membey, Mr Russell Potts. 1 Mi Potts, who has been in Ashhurst for the past eight years, has been a most efficient captain in both clubs. The programme consisted of party games and dancing. An elocutionary item was given by Mr \V. Paine, of Raumai. Songs were given by Messrs Potts and W. Paine. Supper was partaken of, when toasts were honoured. Mr J. Borrett (tennis captain) presented the guost with a silver cigarette case on bohalf of both clubs. Mr G. Bleaklcy presented two gifts on behalf of Messrs Parkes and the residents of Awahou South, after which Mr Polts replied. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr N. Brower.
