CROQUET TOURNEY.
THE FINAL DAY. Play was continued yesterday in the concluding stages of the tournament conducted by tile Mannwatu Croquet Association, at the Manawat.u Club’s greens. The first of the three games to be played to decide the winner of the. open championship, between Mrs Nicholson and Mrs Brown, was won by the latter. 26—16. Mrs Brown made a break in 10 with the yellow ball to penultimate; Mrs Nicholson then had the lift and she hit in with black. In-and-out playfollowed until Mrs Nicholson made a break in 6 with black to the penultimate. Mrs BrOtvn had a lift and went on to penultimate, and made, the last hoop with red and lay for yellow. Mrs Nicholson failed to hit in, Mrs Brown then making the rover with yellow, and getting a perfect rush behind red, was able to peg out, the score being 26—16. . • '
