OBITUARY

MR HANS C. MADSEN. -y Per Press Association. ~; ' BLENHEIM, Dec. 7. After completing a bowling match in which he had drawn the winning shot Mr Hans Christian Madsen, aged. 60, part-proprietor of the Marlborough Press, at Picton, died suddenly on the Picton howling green last evening. He was n native of Wairarapa. After journalistic experience in several North Island centres, he acquired an interest in a Picton bi-weekly in 1904 and was prominently associated with various sporting activities, and notably was secretary for many years of the Marlborough Regatta Committee.
