POSITION IN AUSTRALIA. CANBERRA. Dec. 6. As the result of many protests against tlie influx of Italians, an early survey of the alien migration position is to lie made bv the new Minister of the Interior, Mr John McEwen, who expressed the opinion that there was really no need for an outcry. He pointed out that of 5129 foreign migrants entering Australia this year 1882 were Italians.
