KING’S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY. ANOMALY TO BE CORRECTED. WELLINGTON, Dec. 6. When the House of Representatives resumes to-day discussion will tak« place on the Petroleum Bill, vesting oil resources in the State. The Supplementary Estimates will also be introduced to-morrow. . Before the House adjourns this week; for the mid-summer recess it is to deal with an Appropriation Bill, and a measure correcting the anomaly whereby certain employers might have been required to pay special holiday rates to their employees for work done on December 13. the actual date of the King’s Birthday. The difficulty has arisen owing to the decision to observe the holiday in honour of tile Sovereign’s Birthday on June 9. Legislation will also be introduced relating to the acquisition of land for a legislative and administrative centre around Parliament House, as well as a Bill dealing with the State Advances Corporation.
