OLD BOYS BEAT CITY. Interest waned in the Old BoysCity match from the conclusion or tue City innings, which amounted to 126 in response to 162 by Old Boys. IVith insufficient time remaining for the completion of the four innings, the match drifted to a premature close, well before the bell. On the resumption of the game City had 28 runs on for 3 wickets. Gavey made a stand for 24 and Hardie, the following batsmen, was unbeaten at 20 when the innings closed. Nairn (who was dismissed with a brilliant one-handed catch by Marriott) was the only other to make a score of any dimensions. In the Old Boys second innings. N.
