IN SYMPATHY.
EMPLOYEES AT ONEHUNGA. FURTHER STRIKE THREATENED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec.: 3. It is possible that employees of the Oneliunga Woollen Mills, Ltd., numbering from 110 to 120, may be on strike from Monday. in sympathy with the girls of the ’ weaving section wiio objected to being changed to,diffei'ent looms from which, they were accustomed and on that account left their work on Friday of last week.. A meeting of employeesj. fa't which the attendance was said to be about 70. was held in the luncheon hour when the following motion ried: —“That this meeting supports the weavers in ,'thef action taken by them and that work will cease as from to-night unless steps-are taken to.have the matters in dispute rectified.” “We are awaiting developments,” said one of the proprietors when asked what , was the attitude of the management to the threat .of: S' strike.' As: the management has, not , taken ahy steps to grant the reqfiest conveyed in the resolution, it would'seem that the'next move must come from the employees who, in the ordinary case,, would start work after the week-end >, holiday ' on Monday morning. It is stated the management • received a letter, from' Mr i\ Long, secretary of the Auckland Woollen, Hosiery and Knitting Mills and Allied Trades Union,; putting forward the alleged;' grievances •of .the girls in the weaving dejjartnient"arid asking that they be rectified.-, Before tins communication could be dealt; with; the lunch hour meeting was held of employees and the resolution" adopted "as previously mentioned; *A- \ j
