Further evidence of tho expansion of the air wing of the defence system is afforded by tho publication of advertisements in our columns- to-day inviting applications from young inen for enlistment lo tlie ground staff of tho Royal New Zealand Air Force and for appointment to short-service commissions. Successful ap plicanls for commissions will be trained either at the Firing 'Training School ai Wigram or in England, and wall serve in the Royal Air Force or tho Royal Now Zealand Air Force for four or five years on tho active list and live or six yearson the reserve list.
