MARTON, Dec. 1.
At the meeting of the Marton Borough' Council the town clerk (Mr C. C. McDonald) reported that the rate arrears had boon reduced by £157 10s lid.
Tho vital statistics for Marton for November, the figures for tho corresponding period of 1936 being shown in parentheses, were: Births, 9 (9); deaths, 5 (5); marriages, 5 (9).
At the annual meeting of the cornmitloee of the Children’s Homo the manager (Mr N. Hyde) stated that during the year £950 had been spent, which included £l2O for clothing and boots, £270 for groceries, and £9O for gas. In addition, £l2O was spent locally at Easter for the camp at the racecourse. Unsolicited donations of over £9OO were received, and a mortgage of £SOO was paid off by unsolicited donations, the property being now unencumbered.
