HEALTH STAMP SALES.
THE APPEAL OF CHRISTMAS. ,
The health stamp is now so well established as the convenient method of contributing to the cost of the children’s health camps that its sales maintain a steady volume and over half a million have been sold since the campaign began. The Postmaster-Gen-eral (Hon. F. Jones) announces that the' return of sales to November 23 shows a total of 518,435, and that as the twopence paid for each stamp includes ‘‘A Penny for Health,” the credit to the health camps amounted to £2160 2 S lid. There is a well maintained demand for the stamp in all postal districts, returns from which for the full period of the campaign to November 23 show the following results: —Anokland, 84,520; Blenheim, 7503; Christchurch, 63,315; Dunedin, 45,435; Gisborne, 12,108; Greymouth, 3876; Hamilton, 25,916; Invercargill, 16,148; Napier. - 28,643; Nelson, 9259; New'Plymouth, 16,051; Oamaru, 10,802; Palmerston North, 26,665; Thames, 12.583; Timaru, 12,295; Wanganui, 36,729; Wellington, 80 006; Westport, 2296; General Post Office, 24,285; total, 518,435. In addition to stamp sales, there were donations amounting to £353 Is 6d, so that the health stamp organisations have already received a total benefit from the campaign of £2513 4s sd, Experience of past appeals prompts the anticipation that the health camps will be geenrously remembered during the Christmas season of. goodwill and that even better results will be shown during the present month.
