CONSTRUCTION AT MILSON. AERO CLUB PROPOSALS. The hangar and workshop accommodation of the Manawatu and Middle Districts Aero Clui>, at Milson, having proved insufficient to meet the increasing requirements of the club, plans have been prepared by Mr E. V. West for a larger building wit-h up-to-date accommodation, which it is. proposed to erect on the site original y set aside by the Public Works Department on the diagonally opposite site of the aerodrome, adjacent to the administration building. These plans have been submitted to the .Air Department for its approval as to the workshop and general facilities being up to the standard and conditions reqUlnedannouncing the decision of the club to undertake this comprehensive construction programme, the annual report states that the proposal are alternatively: (1) To seU the present building to the City Council and erect a new hangar; or <2) .to remove and enlarge the present budding to the required size. It is _ finality will he reached in this matter , at an early date in good time: for the arrival of the club’s new machines. FEILDING AND LEVIN. “The completion of the aerodrome at Aorangi during the year widens the club’s scope of training activities, and will be an undoubted convenience to members in that district, in bringing training nearer to them, the repor observes. “The Feilding aerodrome authority is to be congratulated on the erection of a commodious . hangar building and on its efforts to bring the general improvement of the aerodrome and its facilities up to a satisfactory standard. The increasing use of the aerodrome for training will have the effect of stimulating mterest in flying in that area. , , “We understand there are now better prospects of some progress being made, in the near future, with the development of an aerodrome for the Levin district, and we look forward to the ultimate extension of flying activities in the lower Manawatu area, the report adds.
