Sergeant H. C. Raven, a pupil of the Feilding Agricultural High School, has been selected as the best cadet in the Central Military command for 1937. The command covers the Wellington, Wairarapa, Palmerston North, Wanganui and Taranaki districts, and from all cadets throughout | this wide area Sergeant Raven has been selected as the best. With this I honour Sergeant Raven is awarded the | William Robert Friar Memorial prize. Official advice to this effect was received yesterday by Mr C. B. McClure, acting-headmaster of the Feilding Agricultural High School. To-day cricket and tennis teams from the Hawera High School engaged in inter-club matches with the Feilding High School. The visiting teams arrived yesterday and are being billeted by parents -of the Feilding High School pupils. On account of the Feilding races, tomorrow, no senior cricket competition games will be played. Prizewinners at the Feilding Bowling Club’s euchre gathering last evening were Mrs Simpson and Mr C. M. Sargisson.
