MILSON FLOWER SHOW.

TheMilson Women’s Institute held their third annual flower show on Wednesday. Despite the stormy weather conditions prior to the show, there was a beautiful display of roses and other summer flowers. There was a good attendance ot the public. The decorative exhibits attracted much attention, as did the individual blooms, the standard being a very high one. Miss Grant (president of the North Wellington Federation) opened the show and congratulated all on the excellent quality and number of the entries. The judges were: Roses, vegetables and cut blooms, Mr Shader: decorative, Mrs W. Jacob; domestic, Mrs Phillips ; handcraft, Mrs Shannon ; arts and crafts, Mrs Charleworth. The stewards were: Roses, Mrs Dymock and Mrs McKenzie; cut blooms, Mrs Downing and Mrs Jcnnens; decorative, Mrs Barlow and Mrs Munro; domestic, Mrs Casey, and Miss Terry; arts and crafts, Mrs Child and Mrs Renwick; stall, Mrs Cutten and Mrs White. Mrs McKenzie, convener of the garden circle Of the institute, thanked all who had helped to make the flower show such a success. Mrs F. Murphy presented the special prizes to the following: Mrs Rabone’s, for best dress, Mrs Child: Mrs Watchorn’s, Miss Sebelin; Kirs Casey’s, Miss Dawick, P.D.C.’s, for'pair of wagon covers, ’Miss Small; King and Teppett’s special for braw or copper work. Mrs Child ; Watson Bros.’ special, Miss Small; Collinson and Son’s special for domestic handcraft and art crafts. Mrs Wood; Mr Ilopwood’s special for thrift, Mrs Wood: H. L. Young’s special for soft toys, Mrs Wood. The most points in the various classes were won by the following: Vegetables, Mrs Munro;.. domestic, Mrs Cutten; roses, Mrs McKenzie ; cut blooms, Miss Hall; decorative, Mrs Graham; handcrafts, Mrs Wood; art crafts, Mrs Child. A special prize for the exhibitor with most entries and not receiving a prize was won by Mrs Prentice, —Milson correspondent.
