(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON. Nov. 23. Mrs E. W. Burgin, of Avenuo Road, is visiting her parents at Taradalo, Napier, where the health of her mother is causing some anxiety. Mr W. R. McKenzie is attending the annual communication of tho Masonic Grand Lodge. Mr F. C. Brady is acting postmaster. High tides, combined with strong southwesterly winds, caused minor damage among the boats moored at Manawatu Heads towards the end of last week. Practically all the small boats on the beach wero sunk at their moorings, some were damaged, and one broke away and went out to sea and has not been located since. Mr S. R. Austin’s fishing launch Madge snapped a heavy chain and broke away from its moorings, but was secured before it camo to any harm. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. The Foxton Horticultural Society held its sunmmer show yesterday. Tho show was opened by the Mayor (Mr M. E. Perreau). The prize list is as follows: Roses, amateurs only. (Judge: Mr F. Mason).
