WORKERS IN BRITAIN
INCREASED WAGES. IMPROVED CONDITIONS. LARGE-SCALE BENEFITS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received November 22, 8.5 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 20. By two industrial,agreements signed yesterday,' 68,000 workers in the electricity supply undertakings will receive a wage advance of Jd per hour, representing, on the average, an extra 3s a week, and the miners in the Derbyshire area will join the large number of workers who, in recent months, have come under the schemes for provision for holidays with pay. It is expected that a holiday fund of £IOO,OOO yearly will provide the workers with one week’s holiday, with a payment of £3 for a married man, 30s for a single man, and £1 for youths.
