REFRESHING CRICKET.

Received November 17. 11.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 17. ' Mr C. G. Macartney, commenting in the Sydney Morning Herald, says that although Victoria defeated New Zealand by a handsome margin it had anxious moments before that result was effected. The New Zealand bowling was not sufficiently formidable to drive home the advantage gained-in the first innings, adds Mr Macartney, and the fielding was hardly up to that displayed earlier in the match. “The general cricket of the New Zealanders was of a refreshing character, and it seems to matter little to them’whether they win or lose as long as entertaining methods are employed.”
