DAIRY INTERESTS.
ASSOCIATION MEETS. A meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies’ Association was held to-day, Mr S. A. Broadbelt (Levin) presiding. Also present were Messrs P. Hansen (Awahuri), J. R. Whyte (Tokomaru), S. E. Algar (Taikorea), J. Boyce (Tui. Glen Oroua), R. Craig (Oroua Downs), and G. H. Stiles (Shannon). A request was received that the association join the National Dairy Federation, hut it was decided to postpone consideration of the question for 12 months. “It is only duplication,” said the chairman, “and we must avoid putting further needless cost on the shareholders of companies.” The Primary Products Marketing Department wrote stating that the allowance for waxed cheese to cover additional cost had been fixed at 4fd per crate after hearing the representations of cheese factories. —Received. At the previous meeting representations were made to the Internal Marketing Department that butter sold in the Wellington marketing area prior to the gnaianteed nrici being announced should he paid for at the rate of the new guaranteed price. The director of Internal Marketing replied to-day that the matter had not been lost sight of. -■
