SURPRISE PARTY.
On Wednesday evening, Mrs T. Hicks and Mrs A. Sporle gave a euchre and bridge party to Mr C. Collins and Miss S. Duthie. who are to be married this month. The dining-room and drawing-room of Mr and Mrs T. Collins’s home, “Te Wharekoa,” Denbigh Street,' were tastefully decorated with Iceland poppies. Mrs Hicks and Mrs Sporle received the guests attired in tomato shade crepe and flqral crepe respectively. Miss Duthie chose a model frock of floral crepe-de-chine, while Kirs Collins wore black lace. Mrs Hicks presented Miss Duthie and Kirs Collins with exquisite shoulder sprays of natural flowers. After supper, the many parcels were opened, for which Mr C. Collins thanked those present on behalf of Miss Duthie and himself. Those present included : —Mr and Mrs T. Collins, Mr C. Collins. Miss S. Duthie, Mesdames T. Hicks, A. Sporle, D. Ferguson. H. Law.
