Mr J. A. Henry, staff inspector of the Auckland Education Board, has been promoted to the position of senior inspector of schools to the Hawke’s Bay Education Board. Prior to going to Auckland two years ago, Mr Henry was a member of the Taranaki inspectorial staff for eight ■■• ears. Mr K. B. Garland, head auctioneer for Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in the Palmerston North and Feilding districts, has received notification of his transfer to Gisborne on promotion. Mr Ga.rland has been appointed manager of the firm’s branch at Gisborne and takes over control in January. Prior to coming to this district four years ago Mr Garland was stationed in Canterbury, and has been employed by the firm for the past 24 years. Mr Garland is a. popular auctioneer, and while he will be congratulated upon his promotion, many throughout the district will regret his departure.
