ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

GRATIFYING ENROLMENTS. The probationers’ night held by the Palmerston North division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade at the Fire Station, on Monday, proved satisfactory in its results. There were 21 enrolments, and 15 of those enrolling were present. The probationer’s course generally takes six weeks, and should the new members keep up their interest the strength of the division would thus

be almost doubled at the end of that time. A short address on the names and uses of the bones of the body was given by Sergeant B. Poynter, after which Mr C. S. Williams, F.R.C.S., gave an interesting talk on the structure of the human frame.
