GYMNASTIC CARNIVAL

Y.M.C.A. The fifteenth annual gymnastic carnival, staged in the Opera House by members of the Young Men’s Christian Association, was brought to a successful close last evening, the publics interest, as evinced by the large audience, being well sustained. At the conclusion of the performance Mr A. W. Yortt (chairman of directors) thanked the orchestra (which was under Mrs R- S. Law and Mr LSmith), the ladies’ auxiliary, Messrs A. Vernon, A. Kingston, J. Dick, uie piano-accordion band, Mrs ft. Bailey, who trained the ballet, Messrs L. Wood,' W. Olliver, H. Budd, R. and and C. Woods. J. Taylor, and the ushers and doorkeepers for their help. He also thanked the performers for the enjoyable season. Mr C. C. Woods expressed pleasure at the interest which had been shown by the public of Palmerston North in the carnival.
