OBITUARY.
MR K. J. DIDSBURY. The funeral of the late Mr Kenneth John Didsbury, of Alfredton, who passed away on Saturday, took place at the Pahiatua cemetery in the presence of a large gathering. Rev. Mr Ives, vicar of Eketahuna, conducted a short service at the homestead. The pallbearers were Messrs H. Beetham, G. Lewis, P. Hay, A. Moore, R. Kebbcll, and J. Y. Crawford.
The late Mr Didsbury was the fourth son of the late George and Martha Didsbury. Born on March 3, 1876, at Wellington, his school life was spent at Wellington College He started farming early in life in the Waikato district, ivhere he received the foundation training of a very sound farmer. Later he resided at Ivimbolton and then at Poharigina. Soon after settling at Poliangina and at the ago of 26 he married Miss Ellen N. Hammond, of Waitohi, Sanson. The early part of his married life was spent there and when the War broke out he sold his property at Poliangina and enlisted with the Wellington Regiment of the New Zealand Mounted Rifles. After the war Mr Didsbury and his family settled at Pah Elat, in the Alfredton district, where he carried out a successful farming career. He took a very prominent part in the Anglican Church activities, bein" vicar’s warden, secretary and treasurer He was always a keen supporter of the Farmers’ Union and the Alfredton Golf Club. Mr Didsbury, who was a member of the Paluatua and Manawatu Clubs, is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs J. 1L Nelson.
