CO-OPERATIVE WOMEN’S GUILD.

The second Dominion conference of the New Zealand Co-operative Women’s Guild was held at Wellington recentlv, Mrs O. E. Niederer (Palmerston North) being in the chair. The reports read included those by Mrs Scott (Palmerston North), Mrs L. Schmidt (Dnnnevirke), and Mrs M. Mun.ro (Woodv.ille) As a member of the Bomirrpri Council Mrs Gould, in a report, stated that there had been keen competition for the: blue riband, awarded to the guild securing the largest number of new’, members. This was won by-Wanganui, with Palmerston North a close second. SUCCESSFUL DANCE. When the local Co-operative and Men’s Combined Guilds held their initial dance in the. ' Empire Hall on Wednesday evening, it proved most successful. The hall was attractively decorated. The committee responsible for the success of the function 'consisted of Alesdames O. E. Niederer, W. Cantlon. F. Robertson, S. Harrod. ; •T. Boyd, Scott. Bentley, De Clene. and Miss A. Raw’stron, also Messrs W. J. 1 Moore (chairman), H. Klein. W. Anscough, G. Rowe, McEwen. T. Davidson and B. Klein. The duties of M.C. were carried out bv Mr L. Stokes. Miss I. Oliver officiating as judge of the dancing. The supper arrangements were in the hands of the ladies’ committee, and music was supplied by a professional orchestra.
