WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. The northern cyclone has made very slight eastward progress since yesterday, and this morning is centred northeast of Cape Maru* van Diemen. Presstill high to the south and east of the South Island, hut rather lowover the south Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate south-easterly winds, freshening at times. Weather dull and misty, with occasional rain. Seas: A considerable easterly swell.
